SUMMARY:Granite State Comicon 2019
DESCRIPTION:In 2003 Granite State Comicon\, or “Granitecon”\, was a one-day\, one-room\, no-celebrity\, comic book and gaming show. It was definitely small\, to be sure\, but it was a hit. Granite State Comicon is produced by Double Midnight Productions\, organizers of MASSive Comic Con which takes place in Worcester\, MA. \nDouble Midnight Productions’ mission is to provide fans the best in comics\, games\, and pop culture while maintaining a family-friendly\, traditional comic book show atmosphere. \nBut that’s not the whole story. \nDouble Midnight Productions started as a small\, three-owner comic book store in Manchester\, NH. Our first convention was the 2003\, Granite State Comicon. “Granitecon” was a one-day\, one-room\, no-celebrity\, comic book and gaming show. It was definitely small\, to be sure\, but it was a hit. \nAnd\, now sixteen years later\, that smaller size continues to serve our guests\, vendors and attendees well. We’ve expanded the retail side to a second location (Concord\, NH)\, we’ve added a second convention; MASSive Comic Con (Worcester\, MA)\, and we now produce several one-day comic book shows throughout the year. \nAs we continue to grow our brand\, that growth is balanced by our customer service\, attention to detail and personal connections; from our Show Producers to the Volunteer Staff. Our goal is not to be the biggest\, or have the most celebrities. Our goal is to give everyone who attends our events the best experience possible. \nWe pride ourselves in providing a more intimate experience – fans\, comic creators and celebrities get a chance to mingle and chat and enjoy each other’s company. Being smaller is reflected in our pricing as well. DESCRIPTION:The Monroe Comic-Con is a locally owned and promoted convention that celebrates everything pop culture has to offer. Gary and Dawn Pillette are proud to be able to keep admission costs to some of the lowest in the midwest for the size of con they deliver. This was the driving reason why the Monroe Comic-Con was created\, to create family friendly\, affordable pop culture fun. Too many families just can’t afford the larger shows so we designed a con for them BIG CONVENTION FEEL – SMALL CONVENTION PRICE! The Monroe Comic-Con brings in several national comic book and media guests each year as well as deliver 100 plus vending and artist alley booths to shop from. Each year the Monroe Comic-Con also raises money for local charities through their Comic-Con 4 A CAUSE booth so make sure to stop by our booth 🙂 . Headlining this year’s show is A.J. Buckley ( SEAL TEam\, Supernatural\, CSI:NY )\, Brandon Jay McLaren ( Ransom\, Graceland\, Power Rangers SPD )\, Camille Hyde ( Power Rangers Dino Charge\, American Vandal\, The Thundermans )\, The Descendants )\, Michael Foster ( The Thundermans\, TWD:Red Machete\, Axeman )\, Arvell Jones ( Marvel/Dc artist who created the Marvel character Misty Knight ) and many more from the worlds of comic books\, tv and cinema !! The 6th Annual 1 day event features more than 70 creators\, writers\, illustrators and actors who will greet the fans\, sign autographs\, take pictures\, and provide panels and Q & A discussions\, while many super fans are dressed in their pop culture best. Additional costs may occur with some guests. DESCRIPTION:California Republic Comic Con is the premier comic con in the Central Valley with Celebrity guests\, live concerts\, arcade\, and several of different activities for friends and family. The first historic California Republic Comic Con began on September 17\, 2016. It was the very first Comic Con event in the history of Merced\, California and remains Merced’s original and official comic con. In 2016 it seemed like just about every city was getting a convention except for Merced. The city of Merced is a proud people and with that pride came Captain California the representative of California Republic Comic Con.  \n\nCRCC and Merced showed the world that a comic con can thrive and support the community\, and in 2016 the first CRCC was a rousing success\, and repeated the feat in 2017 with throngs of attendees. CRCC is known for the largest vendor\, exhibitor hall in the Southern Central Valley\, and is the only comic con with a Film Festival\, along with Laser Tag and other fun activities. DESCRIPTION:America’s Finest Independent Comics & Cartooning Festival! \nThe Small Press Expo is the premier showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books and the discovery of new creative talent. SPX brings together over 300 artists and publishers to meet their readers\, booksellers\, distributors\, and each other. \nSPX also hosts the annual Ignatz Awards\, a festival prize that recognizes outstanding achievement in comics\, cartooning and graphic novels. The ballot is created by a panel of five cartoonists and is then voted on by the attendees at the event. \nTHE EXPO\nThe annual SPX comics and graphic arts festival presents the best and brightest established creators in independent comics. In addition to the opportunity for public exposure and potential revenue the festival provides to attending artists\, the event also allows less established to network with publishers and prominent creators\, providing unique opportunities for the comic artist/writer that is just starting out. \nSPX prides itself on maintaining an open (rather than curated) registration policy and open access between attendees\, exhibitors and volunteers. SPX is unique amongst the various comic book exhibitions\, as it does not allow retailers to have a formal presence at the festival. Only creators and publishers are allowed to exhibit. The festival includes: \nA public exhibition where artists\, creators and publishers and the public interact in an informal setting.
