SUMMARY:Cincinnati Comic Expo 2019
DESCRIPTION:Established in 2010\, the Cincinnati Comic Expo is an annual event celebrating the best in comic books\, fantasy\, gaming\, collectibles\, cosplay\, steampunk and pop culture in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. \nNow in it’s 9th year\, The Cincinnati Comic Expo\, has grown to become the Queen City’s premier comic convention\, bringing together great artists\, publishers\, actors\, writers\, cosplayers\, and fans from across the world. \nIN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY…\nThe Cincinnati Comic Expo was born when Director Andrew Satterfield—a lifelong Cincinnatian and comics collector—was traveling to yet another comic book show out of town when he was filled with the desire to bring a great comics and pop culture convention to Cincinnati. He decided to make it happen in 2010. \nWith the help of his childhood friend\, Matt Bredestege\, the first Cincinnati Comic Expo was held on September 18\, 2010\, in the concourse of the Cintas Center at Xavier University. The Guest of Honor was Michael Uslan\, Executive Producer of the Batman movie franchise\, as well as many other Hollywood feature films. The first Expo also hosted very special guests Allen Bellman\, Murphy Anderson\, and Russ Heath. In addition to these artists\, over 70 other comic artists and creators as well as 50 comic book retailers and other vendors exhibited at the Expo. Even though it was only a one-day show with little name recognition\, the first Cincinnati Comic Expo drew more than 1800 people and garnered rave reviews from fans and local media. \nFor 2011\, Andrew and his team were determined to go “bigger and better.” Riding the momentum from their very successful inaugural comic book convention\, they moved to a larger venue in downtown Cincinnati: the Duke Energy Convention Center. That year the Expo was still a one-day show\, but had a larger show floor\, and added activities. It was held September 17\, 2011. \nThe Guest of Honor was Steranko. Allen Bellman and Michael Uslan returned as featured guests. New featured guests that year were Stan Goldberg\, Jose Delbo\, Mitch and Elizabeth Breitweiser\, Katie Cook\, Mike Norton\, Chris Sprouse\, Darryl Banks and David Mack. The larger venue meant the Expo could also host a larger number of artists and vendors. Even though it was still only a one-day show\, attendance almost doubled\, with more than 3000 fans in attendance. \nAndrew and his team decided to make “bigger and better” part of their mission statement for the Expo\, so the next year they made the leap to a weekend-long comic book convention. The Cincinnati Comic Expo 2012 was held September 22 and 23 in Hall A of the Duke Energy Convention Center. This impressive amount of space was filled with an equally impressive guest list. The Guests of Honor were the four artists from Saga of the Swamp Thing: John Totleben\, Rick Veitch\, Stephen R. Bissette\, and Thomas Yeates. The Expo drew these artists together for their first-ever reunion at a comics convention. \nThe list of Featured Guests was led by George Perez and included Andy Price\, Katie Cook\, Georges Jeanty\, Geof Darrow\, Mike Royer\, P. Craig Russell\, Dave Dorman\, David Petersen\, Darryl Banks and Steve Englehart. \nAllen Bellman\, Craig Boldman and Dave Aikins led a long list of artists who returned a third time to exhibit at the Cincinnati Comic Expo. Hall A also gave the show room to add dozens more artists and vendors\, almost tripling the number from those at the very first Expo\, just two years previously. \nThe 2012 show also added media guests and even more events to entertain fans for the entire weekend. Television stars Jason David Frank and Chandler Riggs joined movie stars Ian Petrella and Nick Gillard in becoming the first celebrities to attend the Cincinnati Comic Expo. A 1966 Batmobile replica and Mystery Machine were also first-timers on the show floor. That year was also the inaugural Kid Con—a day filled with activities and art just for kids at the show. The 2012 Expo also mounted the largest Lego displays to be seen in Cincinnati. \nAttendees responded to the “bigger and better” show by flocking downtown. For the second straight year\, the Cincinnati Comic Expo doubled attendance from the prior show\, drawing more than 6000 people. \nThe Cincinnati Comic Expo continued with the same successful path in 2013. \nThe show partnered with OKI LUG (Ohio Kentucky Indiana LEGO User’s Group) and launched the first-ever Bricks By the Banks event. Specific space was designated on the show floor for monumental LEGO displays\, events\, and contests for participants of all ages and fans of the most popular toy in the world. \nThe Cincinnati Comic Expo was pleased to welcome Billy Boyd and Craig Parker (Lord of the Rings)\, Richard Kiel (James Bond villain)\, Nicholas Brendon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)\, Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: The Next Generation)\, David Yost (Power Rangers)\, and Ricou Browning (Creature from the Black Lagoon). We were also honored to have talented voice actors such as Richard Horvitz\, Rikki Simons\, Rob Paulsen\, and Debi Derryberry. \nYet\, the guests did not stop there. The 2013 event brought in renowned artists like Art Baltazar\, Doug Mahnke\, Jeff Balke\, Mike McKone\, Doug Sneyd\, Scott Shaw\, Nen\, and Greg Horn\, plus many more. Returning featured artists included David Mack\, Jamie Snell\, David Michael Beck\, Craig Boldman\, Dave Aikins\, Darryl Banks\, and others. \nThe year was also big that we welcomed publishers Zenescope and Aspen. Respectively\, they brought talented employees Pat Shand and Peter Steigerwald. \nAll of these elements combined to create our largest and most successful show to date with nearly 9\,000 fans and patrons walking through the Duke Energy Convention Center. \nThe 2014 Cincinnati Comic Expo continued to get bigger and better than the previous shows! \nThe show expanded into Halls B & C of the Duke Energy Convention Center\, as well as conference rooms and ballrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor to provide over 100\,000 square feet of entertainment space. \nThe main exhibit hall hosted 300 vendors\, artists\, and guests from around the world! \nThe 5th annual Cincinnati Comic Expo welcomed Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk)\, Henry Winkler (Happy Days)\, Julie Newmar (Batman)\, Paul McGann (Doctor Who)\, Jewel Staite (Firefly)\, William Kircher (The Hobbit)\, John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings)\, Walter Jones and the return of Jason David Frank (Power Rangers)\, a reunion of various Bobba Fett actors with Daniel Logan\, Dickey Beer\, and John Morton\, and hosted the first convention appearance of local actress LivvyStubenrauch (Frozen). \nSuccessful and influential artists were a foundation for the show with many guests\, such as Neal Adams\, Marv Wolfman\, Bob Layton\, Mark Bagley\, and the return of George Perez! Aspen Comics came back again and Aw Yeah! Comics brought several of their artists on staff. First time attendees Khoi Pham\, Joe Benitez\, Scott Beaderstadt\, and Clay Mann were joined by Expo veterans Craig Boldman\, Andy Bennett\, Dave Aikins\, Mark Kidwell\, Joe Corroney\, David Michael Beck\, and dozens of others. \nThe 2014 Cincinnati Comic Expo saw nearly 16\,300 attendees pass through the doors over the weekend. \nThe “bigger and better” theme continued for the 6th annual Cincinnati Comic Expo held on the weekend September 18-20\, 2015. The event expanded into Halls A & B of the Duke Energy Convention Center as well several conference rooms on the second floor. \nMedia guests that year were Adam West and Burt Ward (Batman’s Batman and Robin)\, Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills 90210)\, Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy film franchise)\, LivvyStubenrauch and Eva Bella (both young princesses from Disney’s Frozen)\, Sean Astin (The Goonies\, Lord of the Rings)\, Austin St John and the return of David Yost (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)\, Katrina Law (Spartacus\, Arrow)\, Graham McTavish (The Hobbit)\, Eve Myles (Torchwood and Doctor Who) and Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham). The highlights were considered to be James Tolkan\, Harry Waters Jr\, and Claudia Wells\, who all appeared in 1985′s Back to the Future\, which celebrated its 30th anniversary. \nIn addition to growth on the Media Guest list\, many artists were also in attendance. Neal Adams returned to the Queen City for his second consecutive year. He was joined by featured artists John Beatty and Mike Zeck\, Joseph Linsner\, Lee Weeks\, Darwyn Cooke\, Dave Johnson\, David Marquez\, Joel and Buzz Adams\, Ron Marz\, and Alex Saviuk. Allen Bellman returned one more time to Cincinnati! Aspen Comics came back again and Aw Yeah! Comics brought several of their artists on staff. Devil’s Due Entertainment also had a space with members of their artist and writing staff. Khoi Pham joined the ranks of Expo veteran by returning for the second time. He joins such honor with Mike Mckone\, Craig Boldman\, Andy Bennett\, Dave Aikins\, Mark Kidwell\, Joe Corroney\, David Michael Beck\, and dozens of others. \nThe 2015 Cincinnati Comic Expo proved to be the largest at that time with 24\,000 individuals passing through the convention center over the 3 day event! \nThe 2016 Cincinnati Comic Expo was as historical as it was entertaining! Held the weekend of September 23-25\, 2016\, the 7th annual Expo hosted the legendary Stan Lee! Stan Lee made his first and only visit to the Queen City by attending the Expo in one of his final Midwest signing appearances at the age of 93. As the pinnacle of pop culture\, the attendance of Stan was surely a highlight for the history of the Expo and for all of the fans that turned out. \nRob Liefeld\, creator of characters such as Deadpool\, Cable\, Youngblood\, and others attended the 2016 Expo to meet fans and sign items. Other comic guests included Steve McNiven\, Neal Adams\, Jason Fabok\, Mark Bright\, Frank Brunner\, Tony Fleecs\, Tony Harris\, Larry Hama\, Todd Nauck\, Kevin Nowlan\, Tom Raney\, William Stout\, and several others. \nA wide variety of Media Guests was headlined by the attending Star Wars cast members. Billy Dee Williams (LandoCalrissian)\, Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca)\, Dave Prowse (Darth Vader)\, Tim Rose (Admiral Ackbar)\, Mike Quinn (NienNunb)\, and Ray Park (Darth Maul). Other guests included Adam Baldwin (The Last Ship\, Firefly)\, John Barrowman (Arrow\, Torchwood)\, Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad)\, David Mazouz (Gotham\, Touch)\, Lee Meriwether (Batman ’66\, Star Trek)\, and Teddy Sears (The Flash\, 24: Legacy). \nThe 8th annual Cincinnati Comic Expo was held the weekend of September 23-25\, 2017. The event’s headline guest artist/writer were the Batman duo of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Cover artist Adam Hughes also made his appearance to the Cincinnati Comic Expo. \nOther artists and writers making their first to the Queen City included Chad Hardin\, Ellie Ann Lang\, Jae Lee\, and SiyaOum. Artist David Mack returned to his hometown to attend the Expo. \nA wide range of Media Guests once again graced the halls of the Duke Energy Convention Center. Among the celebrities attending were Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter\, Star Wars Rebels\, Star Trek: Discovery)\, Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter\, Babe)\, Julian Glover (Harry Potter\, Indiana Jones\, Star Wars)\, Caroline Blakiston (Star Wars)\, Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter)\, Maggie Geha (Gotham)\, John Ratzenberger (Toy Story\, Cars\, Star Wars\, Cheers)\, PomKlementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2)\, Wallace Shawn (The Princess Bride\, Toy Story)\, Kevin Sussman (Big Bang Theory)\, Daphne Zuniga (Spaceballs)\, Kel Mitchell (Good Burger\, Kenan and Kel)\, and Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid\, My Cousin Vinny\, The Outsiders). \nIn this short period of time\, fans and professionals have recognized the Cincinnati Comic Expo as one of the premier comic conventions in the Midwest. If that is what we have accomplished so far\, imagine what we have planned ahead. \nFormer Guests: \nNikolaj Coster-Waldau\, Camren Bicondova\, Michael Bell\, Levar Burton\, Brian Colin\, Cary Elwes\, Summer Glau\, Clark Gregg\, Mary Mcdonald-Lewis\, Charles Martinet\, Peter Mayhew\, Bill Ratner\, Sean Schemmel\, Karl Urban\, William Zabka \nCosplay: Chelsey Cosplay\, Always River Cosplay\, Knightmage\, Mary Stephens\, Termina Cosplay

DESCRIPTION:Anime and Gaming Convention \nDelta H Con is a woman owned company based out of the Houston Area. Our members are folks that have been gamers or anime lovers for years. Some of us have even worked in the gaming or anime industry before. We also enjoy curling up on these lovely rainy days we have had so much lately and watching a good anime. We’ve made our pilgrimages to the big national gaming conventions and looked for the little local ones to fill the time between mega gatherings. Sadly we found they were rather sparse in our area. So for all you gamers and anime aficionados out there finding the same long stretches of months going by without the big adventures of a con welcome to Delta H Con. We hope you will join us for our annual convention and find a home here. We look forward to meeting you all and joining you for three game and anime filled days.

SUMMARY:Granite State Comicon 2019
DESCRIPTION:In 2003 Granite State Comicon\, or “Granitecon”\, was a one-day\, one-room\, no-celebrity\, comic book and gaming show. It was definitely small\, to be sure\, but it was a hit. Granite State Comicon is produced by Double Midnight Productions\, organizers of MASSive Comic Con which takes place in Worcester\, MA. \nDouble Midnight Productions’ mission is to provide fans the best in comics\, games\, and pop culture while maintaining a family-friendly\, traditional comic book show atmosphere. \nBut that’s not the whole story. \nDouble Midnight Productions started as a small\, three-owner comic book store in Manchester\, NH. Our first convention was the 2003\, Granite State Comicon. “Granitecon” was a one-day\, one-room\, no-celebrity\, comic book and gaming show. It was definitely small\, to be sure\, but it was a hit. \nAnd\, now sixteen years later\, that smaller size continues to serve our guests\, vendors and attendees well. We’ve expanded the retail side to a second location (Concord\, NH)\, we’ve added a second convention; MASSive Comic Con (Worcester\, MA)\, and we now produce several one-day comic book shows throughout the year. \nAs we continue to grow our brand\, that growth is balanced by our customer service\, attention to detail and personal connections; from our Show Producers to the Volunteer Staff. Our goal is not to be the biggest\, or have the most celebrities. Our goal is to give everyone who attends our events the best experience possible. \nWe pride ourselves in providing a more intimate experience – fans\, comic creators and celebrities get a chance to mingle and chat and enjoy each other’s company. Being smaller is reflected in our pricing as well. We strive to keep our ticket prices as low as possible\, our table and booth rental prices are lower too. \nYes we are smaller\, we’re smaller on purpose. \nFormer Guests: \nDoug Jones\nStar Trek: Discovery \nSara Mitich\nStar Trek: Discovery \nCerina Vincent\nStuck In The Middle \nButch Patrick\nThe Munsters \nSteve Whitmire\nSesame Street \nCaroll Spinney\nSesame Street \nCosplay Fans and Community: \nPowers Family Cozplay\nCosplay \nJaycee Cosplay\nCosplay \nMolly Virello\nCosplay \nKit Espada\nCosplay \nThe New England Brethren of Pirates \nFan Community \n501st NEG\nFan Community \nStark Expo v2.018\nFan Community

SUMMARY:California Republic Comic Con 2019
DESCRIPTION:California Republic Comic Con is the premier comic con in the Central Valley with Celebrity guests\, live concerts\, arcade\, and several of different activities for friends and family. The first historic California Republic Comic Con began on September 17\, 2016. It was the very first Comic Con event in the history of Merced\, California and remains Merced’s original and official comic con. In 2016 it seemed like just about every city was getting a convention except for Merced. The city of Merced is a proud people and with that pride came Captain California the representative of California Republic Comic Con. \n\nCRCC and Merced showed the world that a comic con can thrive and support the community\, and in 2016 the first CRCC was a rousing success\, and repeated the feat in 2017 with throngs of attendees. CRCC is known for the largest vendor\, exhibitor hall in the Southern Central Valley\, and is the only comic con with a Film Festival\, along with Laser Tag and other fun activities. CRCC became the hub of fun for Central Valley\, and continues into 2018 to give people fun and enjoyment without a heavy expense of the pocket book. \nWHO WE ARE \nCalifornia Republic Comic Con (CRCC) is Merced’s official comic con\, the biggest annual pop culture event in Merced County. \nProduced by the fan-run Colossus Girl Entertainment LLC\, it caters to the fans who want to enjoy the comforts of fandom without the corporate hustle and bustle\, high prices and the need to travel far for a good show\, and also without sacrificing quality. \nEach CRCC show is filled with film and TV stars\, artists\, comic books\, toys\, games\, everything science fiction\, fantasy\, and anime\, as well as video games\, music\, live entertainment\, food\, and much much more. \nA family friendly environment\, and the perfect place to enjoy everything from cosplay to game tournaments. Don’t miss out and stay tuned for updates! \nWHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT? \nThere are many conventions nowadays. Some are big\, some are small. Some are just a small vendor hall with no guests and activities\, some charge an arm and a leg to get in.\n\nCRCC is different. We aim to provide the best experience of being at a full-scale convention at a very affordable price so everyone can go and have a good time. It is not just guests and vendors but an entire event with many fun-filled things to do where you can spend all day making memories with friends and families – and without breaking the bank. \nOUR MASCOTS \nColossus Girl is Colossus Girl Entertainment’s own superhero\, protector of fans and justice seeker. She appears all over California\, as well as Oregon to make sure fans are having a great time. \nCaptain California is the official superhero mascot of California Republic Comic Con. Teaming up with Colossus Girl\, Captain California protects the fans in Central Valley and always defends fun and good times. \nGuests: \n Eric Roberts\, Eliza Roberts\, Carlena Britch\, FRANCE NUYEN\, RICHARD OLDFIELD\, JIMMY HUNT\, CHRISTOPHER NIOSI\, KIRA BUCKLAND\, BRENNAN MEJIA\, DAVI SANTOS\, THOMAS YEATES\, CHRIS MARRINAN\, PRINCESS MARLY COSPLAY\, CALAMITY CALLER COSPLAY\, WEST WYLDE COSPLAYER\, ARLENA FAE\, LUCKY BUNNY COSPLAY

SUMMARY:Small Press Expo SPX 2019
DESCRIPTION:America’s Finest Independent Comics & Cartooning Festival! \nThe Small Press Expo is the premier showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books and the discovery of new creative talent. SPX brings together over 300 artists and publishers to meet their readers\, booksellers\, distributors\, and each other. \nSPX also hosts the annual Ignatz Awards\, a festival prize that recognizes outstanding achievement in comics\, cartooning and graphic novels. The ballot is created by a panel of five cartoonists and is then voted on by the attendees at the event. \nTHE EXPO\nThe annual SPX comics and graphic arts festival presents the best and brightest established creators in independent comics. In addition to the opportunity for public exposure and potential revenue the festival provides to attending artists\, the event also allows less established to network with publishers and prominent creators\, providing unique opportunities for the comic artist/writer that is just starting out. \nSPX prides itself on maintaining an open (rather than curated) registration policy and open access between attendees\, exhibitors and volunteers. SPX is unique amongst the various comic book exhibitions\, as it does not allow retailers to have a formal presence at the festival. Only creators and publishers are allowed to exhibit. The festival includes: \nA public exhibition where artists\, creators and publishers and the public interact in an informal setting. Graphic novels\, comics and related merchandise are for sale and SPX attendees can interact with the attending creators/publishers.\nA series of symposium held during the festival\, where creators of comics engage in formal panel discussions and/or interviews open to SPX attendees.\nSPX often sponsors off-site events the week of the convention\, including academic seminars\, book signings and school outreach programs.\nTHE SPX MISSION\nThe SPX non-profit charter defines the following goals for the organization: \nTo provide a forum to showcase new and emerging talent in the fields of comics\, graphic novels and political cartooning.\nEnable participants in the comics field to learn from more experienced people in the various aspects of the creation\, publishing\, marketing and distribution of comics related content.\nTo educate the public and members of the comics field in the areas of comic history\, current trends in the comics field\, the impact of comics on popular culture and other analytical topics.\nTo provide a fundraising forum for other comics related organizations such as the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund\, which is a 501(c) 3 that supports the comics community in First Amendment rights issues. \nFormer Guests: \nRoz Chast\nJules Feiffer\nRebecca Sugar\nDerf\nNgozi Ukazu\nCarol Tyler\nRon Wimberly\nAminder Dhaliwal\nMolly Ostertag\nEllen Forney\nRina Ayuyang\nBen Passmore\nAnders Nilsen\nDavid Small\nMatthew Thurber\nFiona Smyth\nJoshua Cotter\nLawrence Lindell\nNate Powell\nKelly Kwang\nKat Fajardo\nJason Lutes

Seeing everyone express there love whether coming out to see their favorite guest\, cosplaying as their favorite character\, or simply buying a piece of art from a local vendor is awe inspiring. \nI hope you all stayed safe last year with the hurricane and I hope you are getting ready for an awesome year at Space Coast Comic Con!
