Had an incredible time. Been to several big city cons and this one was so much more fun! Genuine community vibe, not corporate, not trying to just take people’s money, it was a blast. I’ve read reviews that have complained about the lines and waiting outside in the heat in year one, just know, that wasn’t the con’s fault. Fire marshall flipped out when 7,000 more people showed up than the “demographics experts” hired by the con projected. Year 2 was a breeze! Year 3 is coming up and I can’t wait!!
Promoter is a fraud and liar. This was not even his idea.
One of the best Comic Cons I've been too in a long time, especially when you consider how it wasn't in a large metro area like Dallas or large cities like Austin. I also heard it was a first time con and wouldn't have expected it. Yes lines were long and it was hot outside, but there were food trucks outside with drinks, one of them had unlimited refills was which I got for my family.
Inside the Expo Center was jammed packed, with amazing artists and celebrities. FLASH GORDON was there and many others. Needed more than a couple days to see everything. Can't wait for another!
What a total disaster! Small children and persons with disabilities waiting in long lines in the hot sun to get in. It was like shopping in the old Soviet Union, standing in line without knowing what you are waiting for. I have seen natural disasters with more organization. If this is a "first attempt" by organizers - go back to the drawing board. Horrible, awful, waste of money and time
